SCAM ALERT they try and charge you $5000 to learn how to model don’t be fooled and let them waste your time

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Scam! They try and charge you $5000 after you go to try for their auditions.

They don't tell you anything up front. They lie! Then they ask for you to pay. Don't be fooled by this fake modeling institution.

It is not a modeling agency. All they do is charge you a lot of money to teach you how to be a model!

100% best event for people interested modeling & acting

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The industry has expanded beyond high fashion, runway for models.

Modeling also includes commercial print for any shape, size and age.

I came to this platform to see if any of the models I follow on IG who attended the show and got signed have posted a review. Ive seen their success. I trust THAT over reviews from people who didnt attend.

Yes, photo shoots, video shoots, mentorship, and zoom meetings with agents had a cost but the results are incredible!

I have a beautiful preview dressy top and it seems water stains it. After a wash I have water stains.

At first I thought I stained it whilst wearing it out but then realized after washing it a few times the water stains the top.

Even when I steam iron it it stain in a few areas. This is so annoying and I have proof as well.

To share my experiences with other talented individuals

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Over $3000 has to be paid to the company to participate in their fashion show. This doesn't include transportation fees, lodging fees, food costs, comp-card fees, purchasing seats for family and friends to see the show, editorial photo fees, the fee to purchase behind the scenes footage (which only focuses on a select few favorite models and doesn't film everyone) and the fee to purchase the full video of the fashion show.

In the initial contract I signed, I was promised 2 free editorial shots (plus an additional 5 that you can pay for), a full video of the fashion show (that you pay a $50 fee for), digital shots, and walking for up to 2 or 3 designers.

In actuality, I never received the full video of the fashion show despite paying for it, my 5 payed-for editorial shots used the same photos as the free ones, and I only walked for 1 designer.

Not to mention, the entire night of the fashion show, I was ridiculed, yelled at, and degraded by the designer I was walking for. When I raised this concern to the company staff, nothing was done to help me until I was in hysterics seconds before I had to walk on stage. This same designer then followed the models backstage behind the runway (which is completely unprofessional and not allowed) and started walking up and down the line of models and touching each of us before we walked out, (i.e. messing with our clothes, toughing our hair, obsessively moving and adjusting parts of our outfits, etc.) as well as constantly criticizing our walking style, walking speed, height, looks, etc.

TLDR: This modeling company is nothing short of a scam that I wish I never payed for.

Additional Information:

~ At the end of every preview models event, a contest is hosted where models are encouraged to write positive reviews and posts on their social medias in order to win free participation in other modeling shows.

At the time of my posts, I was participating in this contest out of curiosity to see whether or not my bad experience was a fluke or if it would happen again at a different show.

~ I did purchase the full video and tried numerous times access the link once it was finally sent out quite a few months later than the date initially promised. However, no matter how many times I have tried, I have been unsuccessful in downloading the video. When I click on the download link, a message pops up that I am out of free downloads and must request another new download link from the download provider. I have since given up on ever getting to keep and watch the video.

:(

~ I received two callbacks and I was thrilled to reach out to both the agency and the talent management company. :) Neither of these callbacks worked out and I have yet to hear back from either company, however, this was absolutely not the reason for me writing my initial review. I will always be grateful for my opportunity and the fact that I was able to send in my submission to each company. :)

~ Striving for perfection is completely understandable and should always be encouraged when creating gorgeous pieces of original art to be featured on the runway.

However, this is not an excuse for a designer to insult me and yell at me about the appearance of myself and my hair while demanding for several hours that I change how I look.

~ Walking 2-3 times during the show was implied to be only in reference to the other designers and was implied to not include the Preview Walk showcase that all of the models are in with mostly their own clothing.

This is especially confusing when models not paying for the VIP package are only promised to walk for at least 1 designer. If I had paid for the regular premiere package, this same scenario would have only counted as me walking for 1 designer.

If you read the bios of successful models, none of them ever got their start by paying for comp cards, modeling pics and participating in a fashion show.

I was caught in this money making casting opportunity

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Do not spend your money on this modeling opportunity! It starts with the fact that ALL who attends their modeling casting gets a call to be picked for LA.

In order for u to believe u r getting selected they will call u around the cutoff callback time, like 7pm. U will get all giggly excited u got picked. No, it is only because u will show up and pay for one of the 3 packages. What u r paying for: LA production in spring/fall time.

First, there will be a lot of meet and greet with a couple of industry agents/models that Preview brings that will have do Q/A. Next, commercial reel. They will record u reciting a commercial text that u can download after. U CAN do it urself at home just by shooting urself home against a wall with ur phone!

Next, digitals with designer outfits: u already have them probably or can dress up from ur cool outfit collection, come on, u have it, and pose for the phone camera or it is part of ur portfolio or comp card. From the production u will get 3 pictures against white background with show designer outfits and second round of them was outside against hotel white wall in my all black outfit: head shot, front and side. I think ur local wall will do just fine. Next, the show night.

It consists of walking at least 2 times: once in theme clothing that is beige pants, tshirt and white sneakers, and designer outfits (u get picked by them and go through fitting) and walk for as many as u got picked. I got picked by 2. I must say, designer outfits suck! There is no benefit to be part of the show.

The THING they will sell u to pay them is to meet agency managers/agents from LA. Seriously, u can just google all the names yourself, send ur portfolio and save urself 2.3k-4.3k! All these agencies will ask you for comp card/ portfolio and if u have taken an acting class or classes. All these agencies do not stock runways, they look for people to do commercials that is why they ask for acting class.

And u need to live in LA, no matter what Preview will say, u need to live in LA.

People, what they offer u for 2.3k-4.3k is not worth it, u already have the portfolio or can do it locally, take white wall pictures, record ur commercial with text from internet, google and submit all these to any agency u want.

Upsale point: Paris production. Do not go. Same thing and and cost as LA but in Paris. ALL will get picked to pay, no exceptions.

They will mention that they look for certain type to go to Paris production. No, only and any paying models. They will say u do not need to live in Paris or Europe if u get picked in Paris. They will just give u as example Laura, I think is her name.

Saying that if Paris agency casts u for a role, they will cover all ur expenses to come work the job. Really, a newbie that has no paid experience, work history, fame like in Lauras example, will be picked with all expenses covered!? Do ur thinking. They will pick u to PAY.

And they will provide the service as in LA production. That is it.

PREVIEW MODELS IS A BUSINESS THAT TARGETS OUR INNATE DESIRE TO BE SELECTED BY CASTING MANAGER, FINALLYYYY!! BE THE ONE THAT GOT PICKED!! GET ALL THESE OPPORTUNITIES TO MEET AGENTS.

U can do it all urself by just googling the agencies. And all these agencies that came were not really for modeling but for commercial and other TV opportunities.

Great networking

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

People clearly need to know the difference between an agency and an LLC company. Yes, you never pay an agency.

Preview Models is NOT an agency. They clearly tell people this upfront.

I guess people hear what they want to hear. Preview Models coaches you and gives you the opportunities, it's all up to your personality to shine thru to get the agencies attention.

Scam Scam Scam!!!

This company recruited my daughter and had her believing that she was about to become the next big thing. They tell you in the first meeting that you should never pay have to pay a penny to become a model but then send you home with a pamphlet that states in fine print that there is a 6k charge for their services.

They are literally just trying to get your hard earned money and nothing else.

This is horrible and heartbreaking to these young people that arent reading the fine print and are naive to these kind of scams. Dont waste your time!

This is not a modeling agency. This is a production company that offers training and opportunities to get networking with agents. I have seen these before, and this is the first one that I took my granddaughter to that was upfront about cost and exactly what you pay for.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Paying over $3k for this company is the biggest regret of my life. I wish I could turn back time and I did not sign their contract.

Their so called models are not even near average beauty standards because they pick whoever willing to pay for their scam. Their fees and charges are ridiculous and unreasonable. I am only writing this so that their life does not get ruined by this company.

I paid for premium service which offers 2 photoshoots and 2 runaway walks. When the casting started, nobody gave me option to walk twice because the spots were filled already given to the ones who walked before me.

Their photoshoots are convention photographer quality. They also charge extra for giving you more than 1 photo (guess thats how they make money). Their presentations are *** and I regret hearing every single word from them. After the runaway that barely any person came, I got a call back from casting company.

And preview models promoted it as ~70% of our new models got a call back! It's a scam, believe me, they will tell u that they are not looking for u at this moment and never call u back.

Hopeful

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Preview Models is a PRODUCTION company- not a modeling agency. Like Barbizon, they give you experience, exposure, and education, but on an adult level.

People are saying they didn't get signed and seem super upset, but in our meetings they literally TELL you that you have to put in the work and that it's NO guarantee you will get signed. They even said you should neverrr pay for an agency to represent you . So im not quite sure why everyone is so upset. They never guarantee you instant fame or fortune, or really anything besides their willingness to work with you and prep you as best as possible for the show.

(I just started the process with them) Some of y'all need to learn to read carefully and ask thorough questions to prevent any confusion/let downs in this industry. In the entertainment industry, your confidence WILL be ripped apart, it's all cutthroat.

Pros:
  • Runway modeling
  • Show and all the help they provided

User's recommendation: If you have done Barbizon, you know the drill. This is like a Barbizon competition, but a much higher level. (More adult appropriate to me) If you know nothing about the entertainment industry, you may want to try something else first, if you aren't going to be bold enough to ask all questions you have.

I agree with you I believe the people who wrote negative reviews don’t make it do. Agency is different than a production company.

And it cost money for training. This industry is hard to get into. And they stated there not an agent. I been to a model edition before not ever one get chosen.

I been to a local model call we’re they changed for training so you not being scam. They help you train you so they get get paid to help you.

So grateful I chose Preview Models.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was chosen to participate in the October 2018 Preview Models runway event and I’m so glad that I chose to trust the process. When I started with them I only had a couple of months experience with modeling, after Preview local designers, photographers, and shows were dying to work with me.

Preview, whether you get signed with an agency or not, puts you on a fast track of knowledge, training, and experience that puts you leagues ahead of the rest. What you choose to do with that knowledge, training, and experience is up to you and your own work ethic. It also gave me the confidence I needed to really grow in the industry. I now work for a modeling company and I literally have Preview Models to thank for it.

Does it cost money? Yes... it’s an investment. What you do with that investment is all up to you!

The team is amazing and makes themselves very available to the models for any questions or concerns. They are a trustworthy company and I not only had a blast at the show and in LA, but am so thankful for the experience and training!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

It's just an agency that isn't an agency they get agents together give half people call backs only 3 get signed out of a hundred. The 3 are probably hired models.

They have you pay close to 5000 say you'll get an experience and get to walk more if you pay more but it's not guaranteed it's up to the designer has to pick you. Then they pressure you to buy their cloths they make you bring your own makeup. They pressure you to buy pictures, and they also make you pay shipping for the comp cards to that are bad quality but your own outfits. They pretend you are their superstar, but they are only out for money.

Preview models doesn't even feed you for the price you pay you will wait around all day with just water and wasting your time unorganized. you will have pay more than 1000 to stay at hotel, plus flight everything else so experience is about 10,000 to have your hope shot down.if it's worth this to cry.

Also they say you get good seats for parents and put you in the back where literally you can't see. The just give you basic unedited pictures.go to local agency

Super sad this happened to me

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I lost an immediate family member 3 days before I was supposed to leave for LA for the March Production. I had to plan a whole funeral and attend one, I asked if I could attend the June production with them considering how much I paid and how extensive my issue was and why I couldnt attend as I was heart broken.

They told me id be an extra $700 to attend the June production.. Its just sad, they want me to pay more with the 3k I already spent because I couldnt attend the march one because of an ACTUAL reason.
